Senior Spotlights -- 2022 Cross Country

My favorite race was my sophomore year district xc race because me and Hayden raced JV and we actually had fun and were not worried about anyone else but racing each other.  Hayden beat me though.

My favorite memory was invite camp last summer. That was the best week ever.

I look up to my dad because he always knows what to do. He has been talking to me about attention to details and finishing the tasks for as long as I can remember. I can’t imagine the man I’d be without my dad.

I want to try to run in college. I don’t know where I want to attend yet.

Garmin was my favorite race because the course was flat.

It’s hard to choose just one but getting closer with my team at invite camp is a favorite memory.

I will miss the people that I feel like I’ve gotten to grow up with.

Although she’s younger than me, I look up to Tori Cartwright for her dedication to running, and even when runs are tough she perseveres and motivates the other girls around her. 

I plan to go into a nursing program at one of the universities I’ve applied to. XC is not a factor in these plans, but I plan to stay disciplined.

Ran varsity and in Top Ten all 4 years; ran in the Regional meet last 3 years; Rookie of the Year as a freshman; Most Spirited sophomore year; Character Award junior year; All District  freshman, sophomore, junior years; All Region  sophomore & junior year

I plan to enjoy college, make life long friendships, grow in my faith. I hope to attend college at Texas A&M.

My favorite race was probably the Southlake Carroll race my sophomore year because it was fun and fast and I remember a bunch of us ran PR’s.

2x regional qualifier and Most Spirited junior year

Summer practices this past summer -- they are super fun and especially this past summer the team got pretty close. 

I will definitely miss the people and all of the relationships I’ve formed. 

I look up to both of my parents because of how they are as parents to me and my brothers and how hard they work. 

After high school I am attending The University of Texas A&M to study Engineering.

I would say Marcus/ District because I got used to running that course ( this year it was my 8th and last time running it) and it’s a fast course so it’s one of my favorite races

I medaled in 3 races my junior year.

The 2 times I got to go to invite camp, will forever be remarkable memories that will be with me forever.  Also being able to work as a team at every race and workout we’ve had, I love how close our team is.

I will definitely miss my teammates and being able to compete in cross country races.

I look up to Srija. Since our freshman year I feel like we’ve gone through so much as a class, and I think I speak for my class when I say Srija knew how to handle everything and not lose her motivation. She kept working hard and got to go to State this year, I have no words to explain how proud and impressed I am with Srija because nothing ever got her down. 

I don’t plan on running in college but I surely plan on going to college. Baylor, OU and A&M are three of my top choices. I plan to keep receiving education in order to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (NICU) or a Pharmacist ( I’m not quite sure yet).

District Meet because it is a race that requires you to be physically and mentally strong the whole race because you're racing for your teammates

I plan to attend Baylor University, but do not plan on running XC or Track in college.

I will miss hanging out with the guys everyday.

I look up to Ryan Hershner- he’s a great guy with a great job at St. Marks, and a great wife.

I plan to go to Baylor University and get into the Business School.

I will miss how close everyone is.

I look up to my parents as they are some of the hardest working people I’ve ever seen, and it pushes me to be a hard worker as well so I can achieve the goals I want.

I plan on going to nursing school wherever I attend college, and I wish to also run track in college as well.

Nike South -- we performed well and traveling to The Woodlands with the team was fun.

I improved my times from the beginning of the season. I medaled three times this season and was proud to represent the team during district and as an alternate for regionals.

I will miss the strong friendships and team spirit the most.

I admire people who are ambitious, hard working and curious.

I plan to attend a university with a diverse population and programs to include running. I am interested in a Business Management degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Management.

2022 Friday Night Hawk Invite Senior year

I received the most improved runner during my junior year! Also, making it out of district as a team this year was a huge accomplishment.

The time we went on a run and the river had flooded behind the school so we had to go through and wade through the water.  IYKYK

My favorite memory is running at FNHI at the start of XC season all these years.

I will miss all the friends I've made through this program.

I look up to my mother most because she's the light on my darkest days.

I plan to attend Blinn College in Bryan Texas, then on to Texas A&M.
